TikTok Partners With Shopify To Strengthen Its E-Commerce Offering

TikTok has announced its global partnership with Shopify –  aiming to help more than one million sellers create and run campaigns to reach the 689 million active users on the platform.

TikTok users are now able to scroll through the short videos and shop within the app, bringing it in line with the growing trend of ‘social commerce’ seen across the likes of Instagram and Facebook

Shopify has stated that the partnership will allow its merchants to sell products in the form of shoppable video ads, where TikTok users can click on an ad to buy the product. 

The app, which is worth $1bn, has given businesses of all sizes the ability to go viral, changing the game for retail. This innovative collaboration is even hoping to rival Amazon…

What new Shopify features are on TikTok?

Through the new TikTok channel, Shopify merchants can access core functions of the TikTok For Business Ads Manager without leaving the Shopify dashboard.

 The following features are now available on the platform:

  • New, “1-click” pixel: Shopify merchants can install or connect their TikTok Pixel with a click of a button, making it quicker and easier to track conversions.
  • ​A One-Stop-Shop for TikTok Campaigns: Merchants can create campaigns, target audiences and track performance all in one place.
  • Creative Made Simple: Everyone has a story to tell on TikTok, and the TikTok channel enables Shopify merchants to create native, shareable ads that resonate with the community. TikTok’s intuitive creative tools help turn merchants’ products into high-quality content in minutes.
  • ​Free Ad Credit: Eligible merchants can claim a $300 ad credit to jumpstart their first TikTok campaign.

We feel that these new features are a great addition to the platform – helping small businesses to increase brand awareness and allowing them to reach a new target audience, Generation Z. 

How Can Users Get Started?

On TikTok, simply follow the steps below. 

Step one: Click on the three dots on the corner

Step two: Select ‘Manage account’

Step three: Press ‘Switch to business account’

This allows users to view real-time metrics, gain insights into followers and add business contact details. 

For merchants, the final, and most important stage is to start creating videos that showcase their product range. 

On the technical side, the collaboration has been designed to be as easy as possible for users, by installing “1-click” TikTok Pixel. A tool that helps to track conversions driven by ad campaigns.
